  • To support the educational efforts of the Faculties and Departments of the Ionian University at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

  • To support academic research and transmit research-based knowledge to both the university community and the wider society.

  • To create a hub for the preservation, exhibition and multifaceted promotion of the art and science behind typography, the historical development of education, as well as the arts in Greece overall.

In order to fulfill these goals, the museum must:

  • Generate both didactically-inclined and research-focused collections of objects and associated supervisory and educational material. This material should be maintained in exhibition spaces or in specially designed storage areas.

  • Accept items from other collections to be exhibited on its premises, either through permanent or temporary borrowing arrangements.

  • Collaborate with affiliated organizations in Greece and abroad.

  • Create and develop activities for the maintenance and use of its exhibits and material.

  • Organize periodic exhibitions relating to typography and the graphic arts, variously involve secondary education and foster artistic creativity. This should happen independently and in collaboration with affiliated organizations.

  • Organize training programmes aimed at both the academic community and the wider public.

  • Conduct research connected to museology, the graphic arts, as well as to secondary school education and artistic creativity at large.

  • Feature permanent and periodic exhibition spaces for the benefit of visiting schools and the public.

  • Organize lectures, screenings, exhibitions, educational and research programmes and other events deemed helpful in disseminating knowledge about the arts, history and sciences.
