The final stage in the production of a book by creating the book's cover is called Bookbinding. The consolidation of the printed pages, through gluing or sewing, the thickening, that is, the crushing of the pages to make them bend more easily, the addition of the hardcover and the rounding of the spine, are the stages of binding, which is done not only to protect the book against damage but also to make it durable and easy to use. The bookbinder followed the contemporary, each time, rules for bookbinding and by using the colors and materials, the way of binding and the method of gluing shaped the final distinct aesthetic identity of the book.
