Marta Brunelli

Marta Brunelli is PhD in Education and Associate Professor in General and Social Education at the University of Macerata (Italy) where she teaches Heritage Education and Interpretation and Museum Education in BA and PhD courses of the Department of Education, Cultural Heritage and Tourism of the. 

At the same university she is currently Deputy Director of the «Paolo and Ornella Ricca» Museum of School History, of which she has been appointed Coordinator of the educational services since 2015. Since 2006 she has been the Editorial manager of the journal “History of Education & Children’s Literature” (www.hecl.it) and member of the Centre for Research on History of Textbooks and Children’s Literature. Her research interests focus on the history of the school material culture as well as on the educational valorisation of cultural heritage and museums as learning resources and engines of cultural, technological and teaching innovation in the school and university context as well.  

About these topics she published scientific articles and books, in particular the recent: Alle origini del museo scolastico. Storia di un dispositivo didattico al servizio della scuola primaria e popolare tra Otto e Novecento (2021); L’educazione al patrimonio storico-scolastico della scuola (2018) and Heritage Interpretation.
