Prof. Tsiaoussis graduated as medical doctor (1991), PhD in Medicine (1994) and Surgeon (1999). He worked as Clinical Fellow and Researcher in RI of Edinburgh, UK (1999-2000).  Currently, he is Director of Department of Anatomy, School of Medicine (UoC) and Director of Medical Museum of Crete.

Prof Tsiaoussis is author of 90 publications (Scopus h-index: 26) and he has given over 150 invited lectures in Greek and International congresses and workshops. His main research interests include translational research on colorectal cancer and surgical anatomy.
