On 18 May 2021, the online event "The future of museums through networking: the example of the Ionian Islands Museum Network (I.I.M.N.)" was held. During the discussion, the representatives of the members of the Ionian Islands Museums Network and the general public analyzed issues related to networking, synergies and the future of museums in the Ionian Islands Region.
On the same day, the Museum's digital activity for children aged 6-13 on the theme: "I care...what the museum of the future will look like!" was completed. The Museum addressed its little friends, asking them to imagine the museum of the future and draw it. The children envisioned their own unique and ideal museum with wonderful colours and original ideas. With these drawings a digital exhibition was created. The works of the young artists were also shown on social networks, thus conveying optimism and hope for the future of museums.
On Friday, 21 May 2021, the Museum of the Ionian University organized the open online discussion - event on the topic: "University Museum and interdisciplinarity", for the representatives of the academic and administrative structures of the Ionian University and the academic community at large.
