In the upright manual KRONOS printing press, the printing form was placed on a vertical fixed plate. With a movement of the handle, the other metal plate pressed a sheet of paper onto the printing plate and a page was printed. The printing method is called flat embossing. Due to its low productivity, small printing form (15x10 cm) and high printing speed, the press was usually used for small printing jobs such as fliers, cards, invitations, and feuille volante.
